Position Summary:

Under the moderate direction of a supervisor, performs general cleaning duties within dormitories, offices and other public facilities areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Picks up and disposes of trash, to include the proper handling of recyclable materials.
Operates and maintains automated and powered equipment such as:
1) Buffers and/or other automatic floor care equipment.
2) Carpet cleaning equipment.
3) Wall washing equipment.
Scrubs, strips, seals and/or finishes floors.
Removes snow and ice and cleans and/or picks up debris, such as leaves and paper, around entrances and fire exits (including fire escapes), and from the steps and walkways (generally distances of ten feet or less) leading to buildings.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow both written and oral directions.
  • Ability to interact with customers(students, faculty, administration), co-workers and supervisors in a positive and helpful manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years experience perferred.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to work with customers (students Faculty and Staff).
  • Must be able to climb ladders and reach and lift up to 60 Lbs.
