Position Summary:

Performs diverse tasks for the dining service department which includes the driving and operating of the department Truck. This position also is responsible for the food delivery services and other functions. This person will work with management and co-workers to instill and foster the value of the Villanova Mission Statement and the Dining Services Mission Statement. All of our associates should improve our systems and overall operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drives the delivery service truck and responsible for overall cleanliness and mechanical servicing of the truck.
  • Provides all service in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Responsible for gathering all delivery service supplies (condiments, silverware, napkins) and food items needed for all deliveries.
  • Performs a variety of tasks to assist other areas of dining service (on an as needed basis) i.e. coffee set-ups and/or other small catering set-up, break-down and delivery.
  • Completes a delivery service production sheet on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for following all proper sanitation procedures.
  • May perform special assignments and/or projects, as required ie. helping Unit Manager to create special holiday gifts/baskets, candy items that may be deemed appropriate to sell on campus.
  • Performs other duties and assists with projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of food items, cleaning practices and simple food preparations.
  • At least 1 year of previous food services experience required.
  • Oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a group under general supervision.
  • Ability to operate adding machine.
  • Valid Driver’s License required with a good driving record and no traffic violations. Must be able to meet and maintain VU driving privileges as outlined by Villanova’s Risk Management’s Motor Vehicle Record Policy for Driver’s of University Vehicles.

  • Ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use various chemicals.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs independently.
  • Ability to withstand extreme temperatures.
