Position Summary:

Villanova’s English department is seeking a tenure-track assistant professorship beginning Fall 2018 in creative nonfiction to teach courses at the undergraduate level. The teaching load is 3-2, and courses will include creative non-fiction workshops, fiction workshops, and literature courses.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Creative publication.
  • Teaching: schedule for this position is five courses per year, primarily courses at the advanced undergraduate level, as well as some introductory courses. Advanced undergraduate teaching will include courses in area of specialization, as well as additional courses depending on other specialties and interests.
  • Service to the department and university.
Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a strong record of publishing and demonstrate excellence in teaching. 

Ph.D. or M.F.A. required but candidates close to completion of degree may be considered. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants with expertise in race and ethnic studies strongly preferred.
